Age and sunspots: What are age and sunspots?
For sun or age spots (Solaris) are brownish, spots on the back of the hands of the sub-arms and face. They occur mainly on skin, which often are exposed to the sun.
People from the 40th Year life of sun and age spots more frequently affected. They occur more frequently in women than in men. Age spots are completely harmless and even after years show no tendency to malignant transformation.
How are age and sunspots?
Due to years of sun exposure, there is an increase of pigment cells, called melanocytes, and hence to increased formation of pigment in the epidermis. This increased pigment appears as a brownish stain.
